By

After an uninvited snowfall earlier this week, we’re welcoming the first day of spring with open arms here at MSL. Whether you’ve already begun donning warm weather wear or you’re still humming “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” during your morning commute, it’s certainly possible to celebrate springtime indoors with a lovely Easter dessert your family and friends can enjoy.

Our newest special issue, The Best of Martha Stewart Living Cakes & Cupcakes, offers beautiful and delicious cakes perfect for the holiday. Scroll down to see a few of our favorites, and pick up your copy of Cakes & Cupcakes for the recipes and how-tos plus other baking tips and cake-decorating techniques from our test kitchen. The issue is on newsstands until May 6th and is available as an in-app purchase within the free Martha Stewart Living iPad app. These sweet desserts truly take the cake!

  • Each year since I was a child, my mother would make the above Easter Lamb, frosted in white with coconut flakes all over, black jelly bean halves for the eyes, red jelly bean half for the nose and tiny red jelly bean slit for the mouth. Naturally, I have continued this tradition over 54 years and our daughter, daughter-in-law,(hopefully) will do so. It wouldn’t be Easter fest if the Lamb wasn’t on the hutch.
