Baby clothes and accessories are two of my favorite items to make. There’s no limit to the bright colors and cuteness you can incorporate into your work. So when Kate Muth, MSLO’s director of content strategy, announced that she had a baby on the way, we enthusiastically uncovered our sewing machines and broke out the knitting needles.
Rowena Rivera, MSLO’s assistant director of audience development, sewed this jacket for Kate’s baby. (We loved it so much that several of us wondered if we could pull off a grown-up skirt sewn from the same fabric!) Rowena purchased this Little Red Riding Hood-themed fabric from The City Quilter and used the Cute as a Button Baby Jacket pattern from Jackie Clark Designs.
I also knitted this baby cupcake hat from the Wacky Baby Knits book — one of my go-to resources for baby gifts.
What are some of your favorite handmade baby-gift resources? We’ll need ideas for the next office baby!
